Cale Dauwen

Cale Dauwen from Pinedale is our next Featured Wrestler!  Cale is one of the top upper weight wrestlers in the state and it was a pleasure to do the interview with him.  Thanks for taking time Cale and best of luck this season!!

-Favorite thing about wrestling?
It’s always a challenge and it pushes you to be better. 

-Favorite past wrestler/coach?
Clayton Foster and Bobby Hammer have been my favorite coaches. They have both put a ton of time into me both as a wrestler and as a person. 

-Goal for wrestling, life, and career?
To become the best wrestler, person, and believer in Christ that I can be.

- If you could teach a younger wrestler one thing, what would it be?
Never let yourself become complacent, always find a way to get better. 

-Last year you took a big leap and frankly you turned into a beast!  Can you tell us what went into that, physically but also mentally?
Mentally, I had a lot more self belief. Also It was the culmination of the past few years of hard work. 

-Last year at state you guys had a great team finish, possibly the best ever for Pinedale. Can you talk about your finish last year, the team this season, and what it’s like to be a part of a great Pinedale team?
Being apart of a team like Pinedale has been a major blessing. I believe that I wouldn’t be the wrestler or person I am today without this team. The last two years we have been loaded with talent coming in second both years. It’s a bummer that we could never accomplish our goal of winning a team title, however I’m extremely grateful for the success we have had. This year is a little bit more of a transition year as we have a lot of young inexperienced guys that are willing to work hard and get better. Hopefully they take the opportunity to learn from all the great coaches and wrestlers that we have in the room. 

GPA: 3.7

Coach: I’m thankful for all the coaches and teammates that have put time into me. I truly would not have seen any success if it wasn’t for them.
